Each day Filmman will be profiling a character and cast member of his next project, “Discrimen”.
We’ll include a brief bio. and a portion of one or more of their scenes and include pictures and any other relevant information.
Set in the near future, Discrimen revolves around a defining moment of the APD Wars, and of the greatest soldier of that conflict, Nike Wiknam. Beaten, hungry and exhausted from fighting, Nike Wiknam and his men have been pushed to the border of the large city-state of Suffolk (formerly Boston). With no options and limited resources and a bureaucracy that would rather see them dead, they must now make one of two decisions: declare civil war and march on their homeland or face certain death. For the greatest soldier of his generation, that decision may not be his alone to make.
Corporal Lachlan McLaren:
Actor: Fred Robbins
Lachlan McLaren is the most veteran and respected member of the ‘Elite Eleventh’, and the only other man since Aramis Grayson that Wiknam has ever once turned to for advice.
Born and raised in the highlands of the Scottish city-state of Midlothian during the IRA uprising of 2034, his mother sent him off to Suffolk when his father died from a fatal infection incurred after being in the middle of a bombing of his office building.
After running away from the family his mother left him with, and bouncing between foster homes, he eventually made his way on the tough, deserted streets of the Brookline sub-division of Suffolk.
A no-nonsense man of simple means, it was once proffered through war stories that, during the ‘Mayan Uprising’ section of the ‘Aztec Wars’, when the Eleventh finally made it to Kulkulkan, McLaren personally slaughtered 57 Insurgents with his bare hands upon seeing Nike laying wounded at the top of the pyramid and a lone Brazilian fending off 200 screaming Insurgents.
Once voted “Most likely to kill you for fun” by the rest of his colleagues.
